Outside of St. Bartholomew church in the summer

That Blessed Upper Room

Posted : Feb-18-2026

Greetings of peace and hope in God’s closeness.

As we enter the season of Lent, we are called to ongoing conversion— turning away from sin and growing closer to God by loving Him and our neighbor. The Church points us to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving (Mt. 6:1–6, 16–18) as the path for our Lenten journey. This is a time of grace and renewal—“now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor. 6:1–2).

I invite you to join our parish community for the Stations of the Cross every Friday evening and our Wednesday Lenten Reflections, guided this year by Cardinal Francis Leo’s pastoral letter, That Blessed Upper Room.

Like Jesus led into the desert by the Spirit, Lent calls us to step into prayerful solitude to seek God’s will and gain clarity for our lives. In this sacred time of retreat and restoration, we are invited to approach God with magnanimity and generosity of heart.

May these days of prayer and reflection deepen our spiritual lives and prepare us to celebrate the Paschal Mystery. May the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ remain always in our hearts.
