The Catholic Women's League of St. Bartholomew parish celebrated their 30th anniversary on September 15, 2024. Invited guests included Connie Cristinziano, Vice President of the Toronto Diocesan Council and Gwen Faustin, Scarborough Regional Chair. On July 11, 2024, the Catholic Women's League held a Prayer Service for the Sick. All parishioners and members of CWL councils in Scarborough were invited to attend.
On June 1, 2024, the Catholic Women's League lead a procession followed by the crowning of Mary. The ceremony included prayers, a litany to Our Lady, and the blessing of items brought by parishioners.
The Toronto Diocesan annual convention was held in Ajax on April 24 & 25, 2023. Here are some photos highlighting Scarborough members as well as the various events and activities.
CWL members celebrated the Christmas season with a party at the church. They enjoyed a catered dinner and some entertainment from the Catholic Girls League.
Because of the pandemic, the CWL held a scaled-down version of its annual Mother's Day Breakfast. This was a fellowship hour, with sandwiches and coffee.
St. Bartholomew council held a Healing Prayer Service on February 28, 2022 to coincide with the month of healing and the World Day of the Sick. Members from other councils in the Scarborough Region were invited to attend. We had 50 participants praying together for the healing of those who are sick.
Despite the pandemic, the CWL had a socially distanced Christmas party on December 7, 2021. They enjoyed a meal of Swiss Chalet chicken along with wine and dessert. They were entertained by a visit from Mrs Claus, one wise man, an elf, and a shepherd!
In August, 2021, the Catholic Women's League hosted a novena in honour of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On the final evening, we held a procession, had a short liturgy, and enjoyed some social time.
During the month of May, 2021, our parish recited the rosary outdoors every evening, following all the the COVID-19 protocols. At the end of the month, the Catholic Women's League held a ceremony to crown Our Lady.
To raise funds for their upcoming 25th anniversary, the CWL held a Valentines Day Tea. Tea was served from china tea pots, with a selection of sandwiches and cookies. Everyone had a chance to have their picture taken in the "Photo Booth".
